Instructor’s Bio

In this 7-week session, students will explore various components of art-making culminating in stop-motion animation.  They will sculpt a character, write a storyboard, design and build a set, and create a stop-motion animation. They will need to install Stop Motion Studio app (free) on their phones or tablets.

Class meets on the following dates: 4/1, 4/8, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20

Instructor bio:

Kelly Oh has been an active member in the arts education world in New York City since 2009. Working with a diverse population, she has taught youths as a high school art teacher in NYC public schools, such as Brooklyn Latin School and Millennium Brooklyn High School, and a teaching-artist in community-based cultural organizations.  Her experiences include teaching foundational art courses focused around technical and conceptual skills building, IB Visual Arts, Art History, portfolio prep for both middle school and high school students. She is not only interested in helping her students develop their technical skills but also finding personal connection and joy in making art.  Many of her students have been accepted to competitive art high schools in NYC and colleges across the US.  Currently, she teaches at Pratt Institute.  She is a tireless advocate for stronger arts programs for youths and believes that art should be relevant and accessible to individuals of all age groups from all different backgrounds.
