Middle School Drawing Camp with Kelly Oh - July 7 - July 11

This one-week long camp will focus on developing technical skills in drawing still-life from observation.  Students will complete two drawings by the end of the camp - a single object in graphite pencil and another drawing with multiple objects using oil pastels.

Kelly Oh has been an active member in the arts education world in New York City since 2009. Working with a diverse population, she has taught youths as a high school art teacher in NYC public schools, such as Brooklyn Latin School and Millennium Brooklyn High School, and a teaching-artist in community-based cultural organizations.  Her experiences include teaching foundational art courses focused around technical and conceptual skills building, IB Visual Arts, Art History, portfolio prep for both middle school and high school students. She is not only interested in helping her students develop their technical skills but also finding personal connection and joy in making art.  Many of her students have been accepted to competitive art high schools in NYC and colleges across the US.  Currently, she teaches at Pratt Institute.  She is a tireless advocate for stronger arts programs for youths and believes that art should be relevant and accessible to individuals of all age groups from all different backgrounds.
