July 10th - Learning from Alma Thomas - Exuberant Abstract Painting Inspired by the Cosmos
(This class is included in the Summer Class Pass)
If there is one painter that The Painting School returns to constantly for inspiration more than any other it is the American painting icon Alma Thomas. The Smithsonian explains her work better than we can - “Thomas’s abiding sources of inspiration were nature, the cosmos, and music. She created a style distinctly her own, characterized by the dazzling interplay of pattern and hue.” This exciting class will focus on that interplay and fascination with outer space. You will make several Thomas-inspired artworks that will help you understand color and appreciate the cosmos more, all in one two-hour class!
When: Wednesday July 10th, 7-9
Where: The Painting School Brooklyn, 65 Woodhull Street
Cost: $55 includes all art materials and wine & sparkling water
