In this workshop we will look at how filmmakers use light and shadow, color harmonies and dynamic compositions to engage the viewer. We will also talk about the many films inspired by famous paintings.

After exploring the lighting and compositions of filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock, Hayao Miyazaki, Alfonso Cuarón, Steve McQueen, Greta Gerwig and the Coen Brothers, we will turn to the canvas and make our own cinematic painting.

Level of experience - This class is best for people with a very basic level of experience using acrylic paint, but it will not require a lot of expertise. You can make your a painting as simple or as complicated as you want.

Cost - $60 includes all art supplies, whiskey, wine and sparkling water
